With multiple certifications and licenses across three industries, she has managed over $1 million in student loan debt at a post-secondary institution and currently oversees a $200,000 secondary educational budget. Her decade-long experience in providing results-oriented financial solutions has been instrumental in driving WGMOM’s growth. Yolanda’s unwavering commitment to excellence and community empowerment equips the WGMOM outreach community with essential business skills. Her proactive approach in fostering partnerships highlights her dedication to
creating enduring positive change.
Carlita Laws, Youth Program Coordinator

Carlita Laws, a dedicated Youth Program Coordinator at WGM Outreach Ministries, brings a wealth of expertise to her role. With an educational background that includes an Associate’s degree in Business, a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science, and an Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy, she is uniquely equipped to impact young lives profoundly. Carlita effectively coordinates and implements youth programs, drawing on her solid foundation in organizational management and strategic planning. Her understanding of human behavior allows her to tailor programs to the specific needs of youth, while her expertise in Occupational Therapy fosters holistic development. Carlita’s dedication to empowering the youth of Coverdale Crossroads and beyond is evident in her commitment to creating nurturing environments where young individuals thrive.

Certified as a Medical Assistant and a provider of Mental Health First Aid for Adults, she brings extensive knowledge and expertise to her role. Currently pursuing a nursing degree, LaToya is committed to expanding her skills in the medical field. She
spearheads health and wellness initiatives at WGM Outreach Ministries, creating impactful programs that address the unique needs of the community. LaToya’s dedication to improving lives is evident in her commitment to fostering a healthier and happier community.
Phyllis Johnson, Board Member

Phyllis Johnson is a dedicated Board member at WGM Outreach Ministries, bringing a wealth of experience and a compassionate heart to the Coverdale Crossroads community in Bridgeville, Delaware. As a lifelong resident, she is deeply committed to fostering positive change and hope in her community. With over thirty years of nursing experience, Phyllis has made a lasting impact on elderly residents’ well-being across the Eastern Shore through her unwavering dedication and care. Her commitment to promoting healthy lifestyle choices and social awareness is evident in her active participation in seminars and workshops. Phyllis’s presence on our Board has been instrumental in guiding our initiatives and ensuring we remain focused on making a positive impact.
Jalyn Powell, Community Outreach Liaison
A Champion of Community Outreach and Social Justice
Jalyn Powell, a Delaware native, has dedicated her career to community engagement and social justice advocacy. With a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Delaware State University and a Master of Arts in Law specializing in Human Rights from Regent University, Jalyn has earned notable recognitions, including the YWCA’s Genevieve Gore Young Women’s Leadership Award. She holds a certificate in Leading Racial Equity and Inclusion from Northwestern University and is pursuing a doctorate in Transformative Social Change. As the Youth Lead for the Delaware Racial Justice Collaborative and founder of OUTLOUD LLC, Jalyn empowers young voices and provides mental health and wellness services. Now serving as the Community Outreach Liaison for WGM Outreach Ministries, she continues to inspire and advocate for underserved communities.
